What a beautiful place you are now at

Starting a daily relationship with the God of the universe, Jesus Himself, is the greatest call and joy we have as believers.

(Mark 12:29-30)

At The 501 Exchange, part of our mission is to equip you to love the Lord with your entire being and serve Him faithfully. Here are some simple steps that if practiced daily, will set you up to live a victorious Christian life.

Below are resources that will help you to walk with Jesus, dwell in His Presence, and have communion with Him daily. We hope these fundamental truths bless you and your family.

Step 1

Pray

Prayer is simply fellowship with God. He is not a distant figure but is a good Father that longs to speak and have a relationship with you! (James 4:8, Revelation 3:20, II Corinthians 6:16-18) In prayer, we get to know His heart as we would know a real person because He IS a real person. All you have to do is get alone, away from all distractions, and authentically talk to Him. As you listen, He will speak to you. The impact of this relationship with Jesus will be greater than you can ever imagine! A beautiful prayer to start with is: “Holy Spirit, show me Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Show me Him crucified and resurrected via the scriptures. Convict me of my sins. Open the eyes of my heart to see this beautiful God who has come to lay His life down for me. Show me Jesus, that I may know and love Him.”

Step 2

Read The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to mankind, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason. Allowing the Lord to speak to you every day, through His word will transform your life forever. THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUE FOOD. (Matthew 4:4, Psalm 119:103) Getting on a Bible reading plan is a simple way to help you know what to read and how to start reading God’s Word daily.

The entire bible is about Jesus, our Lord. He said the scriptures speak of Him, and if we we would come to HIM via the scriptures, we would have eternal life, and be healed by Christ Jesus himself. (John 5:36-40)

Step 3

Get Baptized In Water

Water baptism was set forth by Jesus Himself. It is a holy sacrament of the church and an experience with God. The Bible teaches that the following happens in water baptism:

  • We die with Jesus (Romans 6:3)

  • We are raised with Jesus (Colossians 2:12)

  • Our hearts are circumcised (I Peter 3:21)

  • We receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38)

  • We are baptized into the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13)

  • We are baptized into Christ Himself (Galatians 3:26-27)

Commit To a Local Church Body

Step 4

The local church is the community of believers who love Jesus. The church is the literal body of Christ. Jesus is building His church. He is the head of the church. Jesus is also one with His church. We gather to minister to the Lord, serve those who are in need, and build up each other to faithfully live the Christian life. The truth is you can’t live this life alone. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12) There is power, healing and growth found when we are committed to the Lord and His people. If you are a part of a local church already, we ask that you fully commit to that church with all your heart.

Be Baptized With The Holy Spirit

Step 5

Imagine having the same power that raised Jesus from the dead living inside of you every day! That power is the Holy Spirit and the Spirit longs to use your life. Remember it was the power of the Holy Spirit that charged Jesus’ ministry while He walked the earth and He longs to empower you as well. The empowerment of the Spirit is meant to bring glory to Jesus in you and through you (John 16:13-14). All you have to do is simply ask to be filled and receive this gift from the Lord.

Share JESUS With Others

Step 6

One of the greatest ways to stir your faith and keep your heart burning for the Lord is to continually share the testimony of the Gospel to those you come in contact with. This is the great commission; “to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15) This practice will not only change your life but the lives of others around you.
